Proposal to Reform Scotland’s Electricity Infrastructure Consent
A consultation on proposals to reform Scotland’s Electricity Infrastructure Consenting process is currently being carried out by the Scottish Government. The aim is to streamline the planning process for major energy projects to speed up the move to renewables - primarily onshore wind farms.
While we all recognise the need to move to renewables, there is a concern that the proposals favour developers and that the voices of communities will be lost.
A tight deadline of 29th November has been set for responding to the proposals. The Community Council will be writing to voice its concerns, however if anyone in the community wishes to also respond then more details can be found here:
