The Highland Council is developing a new Local Transport Strategy (LTS) for the next 10-year period from 2025 to 2035. The LTS will play a key role in setting out the future direction and policy focus for transport in Highland over the coming years.

The Highland Council sends the Community Council a fortnightly Community Briefing delivered in collaboration with the Highland Community Planning Partnership, containing information about funding, training, support, resources, and news for Highland wide and local communities.

The by-election to choose a councillor to replace Angus MacDonald MP will take place on November 21st.

The Local Place Plan created by the Community Council in consultation with the communities of Duror and Kentallen has now been formally accepted by the Highland Council.

MCR exists to address the widening gap in educational and employment outcomes for care-experienced young people and those facing challenges. Research shows that care-experienced young people who do not receive MCR Pathways mentorship are 23% less likely to progress to college, university, or employment compared to those who benefit from MCR mentoring. This striking difference highlights the crucial role mentors play in bridging the gap between aspiration and achievement for these young people.
