There’s a New, Mighty, Conservation Group in our Community!
Headed by Cuil Bay resident, Liz Paul, and supported by a steering committee of 10 enthusiastic locals, MaCCOLL is dedicated to preserving and protecting the marine and coastal environment of Loch Linnhe. With a vision of community-led conservation, MaCCOLL aims to work closely alongside all stakeholders to develop a sustainable coastal and marine management plan for the Duror and Kentallen area.
The group is moving ahead at pace. It is currently in the process of finalizing its constitution, with the aim of becoming a Charitable Organization (SCIO). Group members are also working with local, regional, and national experts to formulate a plan of proposed activities. These activities will reference the area’s rich culture and history, and will include conservation, enhancement, and restoration of local coastal and marine environments, sustainable economic development opportunities, and educational activities.
Does this sound like something you would like to support and/or be actively involved in? If so, please take a look at the attached information sheet, and the MaCCOLL Facebook page (linked below), then email maccolldk@gmail.com for further information and membership forms.
