The Highlands and Islands Climate Festival returns in September 2024

You can read more about the festival here.

Host an Event

It's important to stress that you don't need to host a specific event for the festival. It could be integrated into existing community lunches, volunteering days or anything you’d normally be doing in September. Any events you're hosting which align with the festival's theme, will be welcomed into the programme, and advertised by the festival. The theme is localism. 'Think Local, Be Local, Share Local, Grow Local'.

The 'Event Fund' closes for applications on 28th June and offers a contribution of £150 to community groups to host an event within the festival.

This could be an event you already had in your annual planner, or a new event specifically to get involved in festival celebrations. Please note that the Highlands and Islands Climate Hub has a range of resources which are available to enhance your event. Projectors, cameras, community engagement kits and much more; we’re here to lend you these items to ensure your event goes off without a hitch.

You're also invited to submit events for inclusion in festival promotions, on the website here.

Lochaber Community Climate Action Fair – Sunday 1st September

At our March Lochaber networking event local Climate Hub members were keen to trail a collaborative event so… in collaboration with Lochaber Environmental Group, we are hosting a climate action fair! It will be on Sunday 1st September at Kilmallie Community Centre from 1.30 – 4pm. If you’d like a stall or to run an activity as part of the fair, then book your place via this form.

We’re encouraging groups to make their stalls as interactive (and environmentally friendly) as possible. If you’re stuck for ideas or need a hand, then just drop me a message or give me a call on my number below. If you require funds to host a stall at the event or run an activity, please let us know your expected costs via the form above. We have a limited budget for the climate festival this year and can’t guarantee we will be able to cover the costs, but we will do our best to help.

Spread the Word

You can find the festival on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Please give us a like/follow and tag us in your event updates because we'd love to share them.
