Training
NHS Highland Health Improvement Team
Offers the following Mental Health and Wellbeing training to any interested staff or partners: All training is delivered online via Microsoft teams. Courses coming up include: Introduction to mental health & wellbeing: Informed Level; Supporting a person at risk of distress or crisis; Suicide Intervention & Prevention Training (SIPP). The NHS have a range of Money Counts and Health Inequalities training courses coming up between now and March 2025. Including: Brief conversations; Support conversations; Poverty informed practice; Health inequalities. Full details can be found in the flyer attached.

Age Scotland
Age Scotland are running a number of training dates and workshops throughout February, March and April. Workshops include dementia awareness, inclusion and carers training. Care for a Career
Interested in becoming a carer? Highland Home Carers are hosting an event in the Nairn Community Centre on Tuesday 25th February, 10am-2pm. You don’t need any previous experience in the sector, just compassion and a desire to make a difference to some of the most valuable people in our community. Legal Launchpad: Supercharge Your Social Enterprise’s Success
A free event for those interested in learning how legal knowledge underpins successful social enterprises. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet experts in the field and learn first hand what it takes to build a strong foundation for your social enterprise. Visitor Levy
A number of events will be held in the coming weeks to assist members of the public in participating in the public consultation process on the proposed Visitor Levy Scheme for Highland and submitting a formal consultation response. These have been published on the Council's website.
Understanding the New Bona Vacantia Initiative: Opportunities for Communities
On March 1st, 2024, the King’s and Lord Treasurer’s Remembrancer (KLTR) launched a new initiative designed to help communities in Scotland manage abandoned or neglected properties. This webinar will give you an in-depth overview of the OPTS process, a scheme that provides a mechanism for local authorities and community bodies to acquire ownerless land and buildings, bringing them back into use for the benefit of the community.
